SUCCESS STORY- At first I didn't understand why I wasn't automatically linked into my family on Family Tree. Then I was told that living people are treated differently than deceased individuals to protect their privacy. Even though someone's records may be available to the Church, their information cannot be made publicly available. Therefore, each of us have to enter some information of living relatives manually until we connect ourselves to our deceased ancestors. This did not take me very long to do and I am actually grateful that I started my experience with Family Tree in that way because it helped me learn how to work on the site. I realize that much of the information that is available to me on Family Tree is in need of being corrected or verified, so I am glad that I feel confident entering information into my family tree. I loved the moment when I connected with my deceased relatives and suddenly had access to information on literally hundreds of my ancestors.
